Pearls are a three-piece band from Melbourne who have been together since the start of 2011, releasing the split 7" single 'At Home With You' in May on Glaswegian label RE:PEATER Records. This November they will release their first EP, recorded at Head Gap studios with Jack Farley (Twerps, Beaches, Peak Twins) and mastered by Casey Rice (Dirty Three).
Their lush, intense sound is characterised by droning, reverb heavy guitar, warm, shimmering synths, driving drums and ethereal vocals that seem to float above the rest of the noise. Since 2011 Pearls have had the pleasure of supporting international acts such as Sons & Daughters (UK) and Marnie Stern (USA), in addition to performances for Melbourne Music Week, The Thousands and Melbourne Fringe Festival. Pearls have also shared the stage with great local acts Lost Animal, Total Control, New War, The Ancients, Peak Twins, Super Wild Horses, ZOND, Fabulous Diamonds, Brous and Teeth & Tongue.
Tune into Homebrew on October 1st from 3-5pm to hear them play their first live to air on the Straight to You Sessions on PBS!
Produced with the assistance of the Community Broadcasting Foundation and AMRAP.
