Fri 13 Feb 2015

Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.
Friday the 13th of February 1970, their debut self-titled album ‘Black Sabbath’ is released and Heavy Metal is born.

Precisely 45 years later to the day, Melbourne will host an incredible Black Sabbath celebration to honour this date and the band that changed the world.

Performing the entire ‘Black Sabbath’ debut album live on its precise 45th anniversary, and appropriately on Friday the 13th, will be a one-off collaboration of Melbourne’s most respected original heavy rock exponents, brought together for the first time to form a local super group, going by the name The Wizards.
With lead vocals from both Matt ‘Chappy’ Chapman (My Left Boot) and Jake Haugis (Dead City Ruins). Guitar duties will be shared by Neil Wilkinson (Redcoats) and Daniel Firth (My Let Boot). Jim Coelli from Sheriff and A Gazillion Angry Mexicans plays Bass. And on drums is Liam ‘Cuff Norris’ Cuffley (Matt Sonic & The High Times, Grindhouse and My Left Boot.) With some surprise guests too!

In addition to the ‘Black Sabbath’ album The Wizards will also play an encore set of Black Sabbath favourites guaranteed to excite the most head-banging Sabbath aficionado. Confirmed support acts include 3-piece psychedelic stoner blues rock riff kings Child (winner of the 2014 Cherry Award for Act of the Year) and the heavy guitar hairy assault of F*ck The Fitzroy Doom Scene. Both these killer local Melbourne bands have just released hirsute debut albums.
