This 14 member internationally acclaimed choir formed in 2005 in Soweto, South Africa presents a new powerful show called Mandela in Me, which celebrates the life of the late world icon, Nelson Mandela carrying his message of forgiveness, love, peace and tolerance around the world through music.

MANDELA IN ME brings a true fusion of South African spirit and culture, featuring spectacular vocals, poetry, jaw-dropping African dances and vibrant traditional drums in an unparalleled blend of styles and sound. The intensely energetic and moving performance combines original, local and international songs to create a unique musical experience that leaves audiences emotionally charged.

This spirited ensemble is directed by EMMY Award winner Jimmy Mulovhedzi, who is also Company Manager/Musical Director of the multi-GRAMMY Award winners, the Soweto Gospel Choir. Memeza uses music and dance to voice out challenges faced by communities in Africa in a very entertaining way hence their numerous performances in Canada, China, Scotland, Austria and France.
Aswell as performing MANDELA IN ME, Memeza are very keen to connect and share their culture with the people of Australia. They will be hosting many vocal workshops in which the general public can come and sing and move with the passionate, energetic group in an all inclusive manner which is the true heart of African music.
