Fri 20 Nov 2015 to Sat 28 Nov 2015

Big West Festival is the leading community-based, contemporary arts festival in Melbourne's West. A biennial festival, this year's fabulous, nine-day extravaganza runs from 20-28 November, 2015.

In 2015 we are celebrating the tenth Big West Festival by bringing you 70 multicultural, multi-artform events, most of which are free and all of which celebrate the West and the meanings this place holds for its residents, through our theme, the inner and outer world of the HOUSE.
Artists have made their own mobile art galleries and performances spaces. They have turned theatres into houses and houses into theatres. Come and play with angels and man-rabbits, be immersed in industrial soundscapes of sirens and massed choirs; see a show in a wardrobe, a woman hanging from a window, a whole house seemingly fallen from the sky... In 2015, we sent the art outdoors into Nicholson Street Footscray, to make quite possibly the richest performance-based street party that Melbourne has ever seen!

Our HOUSE is now your HOUSE. The welcome mat is out - we hope you'll drop in!
