The Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society (MBAS) has announced the names of the 10 Blues Bands who have entered the 2016 MBAS Blues Challenge.
The aim of the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society’s MBAS Blues Challenge is to find the best possible Blues Band to represent the MBAS and Melbourne at the annual International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis TN, USA. The IBC event sees more than 200 Blues acts from around the world gather on Beale Street in Memphis to compete for the chance to win the prestigious Blues Challenge international title.

The MBAS Blues Challenge will hold two elimination Heats on:
Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th November, 8.00PM with the 3 first placed acts from each Heat going into the Final.
The Final will be held on Sunday 13th November 2016. 5.00PM
Each act will perform a 20 minute set in the Heats, and Finalists performing a 25 minute set.
The MBAS Blues Challenge Heats and Final will all take place at the Flemington Bowls Club, Cnr Smithfield & Racecourse Rds, Flemington.
