by Bass Drum Of Death

Bass Drum Of Death is a band from Oxford, Mississippi. John plays guitar and sings and Colin plays the drums. Together they make blown-out, blazing songs.

’GB City’ is their debut album, on the mighty Fat Possum Records. John was Fat Possum's worst employee 3 years ago. He wrote and recorded the whole record himself using just a drumset, a guitar, a usb microphone, a computer, and a shedload of talent.

The songs are about drugs, trying to make it with religious girls, panic attacks, stealing stuff, mild to severe depression, Elvis appearing in your dreams and giving you advice, gravity bongs and the devil living inside your brain.

This record is the soundtrack playing in your head when you're fucked up and walking home in the middle of the night.

John & Colin recently played a slew of show at South By Southwest that set tongues wagging. They also appeared on Fuel TV recently with MellowHype of the hugely-touted Odd Future hip-hop collective.

“Bass Drum Of Death likes original rock swagger, evident as one carefully peruses the ’50s era popular rock drum pacing via ‘Heart Attack Kid’, meshing the early years of a then-fledgling genre with blasts of energy only Jerry Lee Lewis’ chaotic ass could’ve appreciated.” – CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND
