Founded in 2019 by artists from Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt, Tarab Ensemble is a group that derives its name from the concept of 'tarab,' which connotes the pleasure and joy one gets from classical Arabic music. Ahead of their performance at Melbourne Recital Centre on March 9th, a trio of members from the ensemble visit PBS to play a live set on Boogie Beat Suite and to chat with MzRizk.

'Broken Line' was inspired by the story of the Japanese Wind Phone (Kaze No Denwa), a disconnected phone built by Itaro Sasaki in 2010 as a coping mechanism after the death of his cousin, as well as the many fond years Tracey spent living and singing in Japan.
