Anthony Shortte

Drummer/percussionist Anthony Shortte, aka ‘Shorty,’ has a unique approach to the drum kit, creating rolling, juke-joint sounds. Dan Dinnen performs stripped-back ballads, upbeat country blues, and swinging shuffles. Together, the duo makes unique, flavourful music with hints of delta swamp and hill country. Shorty joins Helen on Roots of Rhythm to chat about an upcoming show happening at the Echuca Winter Blues on July 26-28.

Nunchukka Superfly is a punk rock outfit that formed in the 90s in Sydney, playing at big festivals such as the Big Day Out. The band created an album that was thought to have been forgotten and was never released until not too long ago when lead singer James McCann came across the master CD. James comes into Pojama People to chat with Chris about their album 'Nunchukka Superfly 95'—as James describes it, "raw and straight from the gates of hell."

Eora-based alt-pop icon June Jones has just released her EP ‘Proximity’. Each song in the EP channels an aspect of herself through a persona that she only semi-consciously developed for the record. The lyrics are a combination of fact and fiction, paying homages to some of her favourite pop songs and artists.
