Joining State of the Art this morning is Jess Fairfax, who is running Cafe Philosophique De L’Amour, a series of spoken word, music and conversation events exploring the intricacies of relationships. Back for its third season, Cafe Philosophique will once again utilise poetry and music to ask the big questions about the things we often take for granted in our lives. Running every Tuesdays in October at the newly refurbished Hotel Esplanade, Cafe Philosophique De L’Amour will delve deep into the intricacies of relationships and the ways our lives and past experiences can affect them. The evening will begin with poetry, storytelling and music from some of Melbourne’s deepest thinkers, followed by an open conversation where the audience is invited to share their own thoughts and experiences, while listening to those of others.
Cafe Philosophique is grounded in a desire to help strengthen and foster connection. Creating unlikely conversations and questioning the ingrained, the series helps to build community and ultimately allow us to live better lives.
Cafe Philosophique De L’Amour has been generously supported by The City of Port Phillip
through their Local Festivals Fund.
