Back in February, following many postponements, Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Cahill Kelly finally launched his long-awaited debut album Classical and Cool Jazz. Kelly, who also plays guitar and keyboards for Grace Cummings, performed songs from the album with a full band at the Brunswick Ballroom. Ernie, who presents PBS’s Thursday afternoon country program Swinging Doors, was at the Brunswick Ballroom that night and loved every minute of Kelly’s show.
A few months before the launch, Cahill Kelly dropped in on MUUZOstream, Channel 31’s weekly program of live music performances, to record a beautiful, soulful, stripped-back solo performance of old songs and teasers from his debut album. The session originally aired on Channel 31 in November 2021, and for our next Studio 5 Live presentation, PBS is excited to share this session with our listeners on Swinging Doors Thursday April 7 to hear a different side to Classical and Cool Jazz.
Tune in to PBS on Thursday April 7 from 3pm to hear this intimate session with Cahill Kelly.
PBS Studio 5 Live is proudly presented by Mountain Goat Beer.
