Child was put together by Redcoats guitarist Neil Wilkinson towards the end of 2012 to see what would happen, the result being too heavy for traditional electric blues and too pansy for stoner rock. The band, fed up with playing empty dive bars around Melbourne, decided to record an album with Paul Maybury at A Secret Location Studios in Thornbury. The result being a 5 track heavy blues album that garnered enough attention to let the band grace the stage with Kadavar, Blues Pills and Uncle Acid & the deadbeats on their recent tours. a mountain of positive reviews including Roadburn Festival's album of the day have put Child in an interesting position in Melbourne's live heavy scene.
