Last year was an auspicious one for Even, one of Australia’s seminal indie-pop-rock bands; they had turned 25 and to celebrate, the band embarked on a string of headline gigs around the country. Despite their busy schedule, they came in to PBS to record a live set in Studio 5 that aired on The Afterglow on October 30, 2019.
Now, a bit after a year later, we revisit this classic session on Radio City, another one of Even’s natural habitats. Crispi, a long time fan of the band, tells us:
"Even has been an institution on the Melbourne scene for over 25 years. They have an extremely loyal legion of fans who will turn up to every gig they put on. I personally have never seen them play a bad gig and this Studio 5 session is certainly no exception."
More than a quarter of a century, and seven studio albums later, the band are firmly placed as one of the country’s most adored indie bands emerging from the ‘90s.
