We are delighted to announce that Firas Massouh is PBS' new Music and Interviews Coordinator.
Firas brings to the station a wealth of experience in both music and radio. Joining us from the ABC where he has worked as a producer and presenter for the past few years including presenting the Evening Show on ABC Radio Hobart, Firas is also an active participant in the music community as a practicing musician and DJ. “I’m very excited to work in an iconic community radio station that for decades has contributed greatly to Melbourne’s celebrated music culture,” said Firas.
The Music and Interviews Coordinator role is a critical position within the station, working with artists, publicists and volunteers to deliver the best new emerging and established music to the airwaves. Program Manager, Owen McKern, expressed his delight in welcoming Firas to the station, “I’m really excited to have Firas join the PBS staff team. He brings a wealth of experience in broadcasting, media and music, and like all PBS staff and volunteers, he has a passion for music that is unquenchable.”
Since 1979, PBS has put its heart and soul into building a strong community of musicians, music lovers, music venues and businesses and members. The station exists to champion, nurture and grow Melbourne’s incredibly diverse and dynamic music community. It does this by broadcasting local and international music from gospel singing to death metal that is seldom, if ever, heard anywhere else.
Firas starts at PBS Monday July 23 and will be contactable Monday to Friday between 10am and 6pm. For all music related enquiries, Firas can be contacted via musicdept@pbsfm.org.au
Welcome Firas!
