This week's PBS Feature Album is You Never Know, the third studio album by shoegaze-dream pop outfit Flyying Colours, landing Friday 17 March via Poison City / Club AC30.
You Never Know marks the first new studio offering from the band since the release of their globally acclaimed sophomore album Fantasy Country. The album is punctuated by soaring musical moments and grandiose walls of sound and takes listeners on a journey through familiar Flyying Colours territory and shimmering new terrain.
From the first album single ‘Goodbye to Music’, an infectious pop panorama fusing ‘80s-inspired keys with glistening guitar and charming vocal harmonies, to the rollicking noise-rock of ‘Lost Then Found’ and the catchy, upbeat melodies of ‘I Live in a Small Town’, Flyying Colours' magnificence is on full display.
Elsewhere, ‘Oh’ is a nod to ‘Loveless’-era My Bloody Valentine, while the sumptuous ‘Bright Lights’ beams with ethereal beauty as floating melodies and shimmering guitars cascade, and magnificent pop moments shine through ‘Modern Dreams’ and the sublime album closer ‘Never Forget’.
Tune in all this week to hear tracks from You Never Know, and PBS Members have the chance to win a copy of the album on vinyl via this Tuesday's e-newsletter, so make sure you check your inbox!
