Described variously as a ‘shamanic saxophone prodigy,’ a ‘music virtuoso’ and a ‘once in a generation musician’, Isaiah Collier is a Grammy nominated artist, who calls himself a sonic scientist, curator, composer, activist and music director. Emerging from the vibrant Chicago jazz scene as a and multi-instrumentalist and notable tenor saxophonist, Isaiah is a heir apparent to a post Coltrane sax tradition.

Isaiah Collier and his band, The Chosen Few visited PBS while in Melbourne, as an Australian exclusive, to perform three shows at Bird’s Basement on Thursday 4 through to Saturday 6 April 2024.

Ahead of their shows, Isaiah Collier and The Chosen Few dropped by Eternal Rhythm for a very special Studio 5 Live session. Listen back the full live performance here.

PBS thanks the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust for funding assistance to build and fit out Studio 5.
