In 2016, American psych blues guitarist Isaiah Mitchell returned to Australia for a string of shows on the east coast with Melbourne power trio Seedy Jeezus. Mitchell is known for playing captivating psychedelic jams and has gained a reputation as one of the world’s finest psych guitarists through his work with Earthless, Golden Void and Howlin Rain.
Melbourne’s Seedy Jeezus is a band known for breaking off into jams that will extend and evolve the songs into new directions. The adage that no two gigs are the same applies when these guys are on stage. Seedy Jeezus have spent the last five years tearing up stages in Australia and Europe, building a strong following both locally and internationally.
It’s no surprise that both Isaiah Mitchell and Seedy Jeezus are absolute favourites of Chris Pearson’s. So when Isaiah was in Australia for his Under the Influence tour with Seedy Jeezus, Chris naturally invited them to play a live set on his show Pojama People.
The result was a fabulous live set in Studio 5 that’s well worth a revisit now. You can hear the entire thing on Pojama People on Tuesday January 18.
