This baby is coming of age. Twenty-one parties deep, we would like to invite you to join us for the final Jamaica Jump-Up of 2016 on Saturday, December 17 at The Gasometer Hotel.
After blowing our minds way back at the beginning of the year, returning to the Jump-Up stage for an explosive live set for this year’s grand finale will be none other than the Jackie Mittoo Hammond Revue with Jake Savona and Friends! The man also known as Mista Savona returns with a fine array of musicians to present a set from the Jamaican keyboardist's vast repertoire of funk, soul and reggae – this is definitely a Jamaica Jump-Up not to be missed!
Mohair Slim (Blue Juice) is fresh off a plane from Jamaica itself, and will no doubt have a huge array of dug up treasure set for a spin and Jesse I (Babylon Burning) also returns with what promises to be a cracker set after having last month off. They’ll be joined by more Jump-Up favourites and loved members of the PBS family Miss Goldie (Boss Action) and Rick Howe (Riddim Yard) – plus, this month marks the return of powerhouse guest selector Solomon with 100% vinyl selections from 9pm until 3am. Plus, Jamaican Queen Jigzie brings the festive vibes as MC!
This is one party not to be missed – we’ll be taking January off so you need to fit in as much skankin’ as possible to get you through the summer!
