This week’s feature album is Nobody Gets Away from Melbourne collective JAZZPARTY.
Led by former saxophonist and songwriter of Clairy Browne & The Bangin’ Rackettes Darcy McNulty and supreme diva and ex-Rackette Loretta Miller, JAZZPARTY combines New Orleans-style revelry with punk attitude.
Growing wildly from lounge rooms of late-night house parties to month-long Monday night residencies throughout the city, JAZZPARTY has held court at many of Melbourne’s most electrifying venues, as well as tearing it up at national music and arts festivals including Golden Plains, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, WOMAD and across the Tasman for Dark Mofo.
Nobody Gets Away delivers a unique sound full of hypnotic beats, upbeat horns, and a seductive combination of vocals. The band have already released singles ‘Higher With My Love’, ‘Hearts Gonna Leave’ and the album’s title track ‘Nobody Gets Away’.
