This week's PBS Feature Album is Fiesta de Corazón, the debut album by dynamic Afro-Latin-Australian band La Descarga.
Known for their explosive performances and vibrant fusion of traditional Colombian and contemporary Australian sounds, La Descarga’s Fiesta de Corazón is more than just an album; it’s a vibrant party for your heart. Featuring over 30 artists from across four continents and mixed by acclaimed Colombian producer Diego Gomez (Llorona Records, Discos Pacifico), Fiesta de Corazón captures the celebratory and heartfelt spirit so inherent in Latin American and Caribbean cultures, inviting listeners to experience a spirited celebration at their core.
Fiesta de Corazón includes 10 original tracks that encapsulate a decade of musical evolution. Drawing from the Afro-Colombian traditions of Colombia’s Caribbean and Pacific coasts, the album infuses these rich cultural roots with contemporary urban sounds like funk, dub, and electronica.
Tune in all this week to hear tracks from Fiesta de Corazón, and PBS Members have the chance to win a copy of the album on vinyl: simply email your name and membership number to before midnight Sunday December 1. Please note vinyl giveaways must be picked up from the station in Collingwood.
