Fri 4 Nov 2011 to Fri 25 Nov 2011

Picture this: after years fighting licensing laws, pokies and developers, Melbourne’s live music scene is forced to shut down forever and there’ll be just one more gig - The Last Gig in Melbourne - before lights out and the final song of the night is the last song in the city.

Instead of drowning her sorrows, local rock comedy superstar Geraldine Quinn will be downing last drinks and rocking out live on stage in The Last Gig in Melbourne.

“I want to capture the live Melbourne spirit – sticky carpets, layers of toilet cubicle graffiti, remarkable hair, sweaty dance floors, pub stamps that don’t wash off for weeks,” says Quinn.

Casey Bennetto (writer of Keating! and director of Quinn’s award-winning show You’re the Voice) again takes the role of director for The Last Gig in Melbourne, an emotional, nostalgic, fun and cathartic journey about not appreciating a good thing until it’s gone.
