Our existing home is being threatened by extensive sand mining so we are building a new one down the road that will house 40-45 chidren, who in most cases have lost both parents.
A team of Orphfund volunteers will be working with local builders using eco techniques that use sand packed recycled rice bags for the main structure. The plan is to build 3 eco homes plus shower and toilet facilities as well as supplying solar power.
OrphFund is a volunteer organisation based in Melbourne. We work on projects in some of the world’s poorest countries - places where kids without any parents don’t stand much of a chance. Orphfund projects aim to help these children who have been abandoned or orphaned with shelter, education, care and a better chance for the future.
