by Tully

Tully are one of the more interesting bands to come out of the Australian Psychedelic scene. They started out as a loud organ-driven rock band but after a couple of personnel changes including two members from the more folky aussie group, Extradition, their style developed into more of a psych-rock sound. Local record label 'Chapter Music' have been hard at work reissuing Tully's back catalogue in recent times and have continued by releasing their 3rd and final album 'Loving Is Hard'. Released in 1972, the band had broken up by the time it was released but, given that, it is a cohesive and beautifully serene piece of work. There are some wonderful songs including Poco A Poco, Sunshine Blues Again and the title track but it's the song 'Ice' which is the real centrepiece. It's a beautifully orchestrated 7 minute epic and really devours you as a listener. It would have been interesting to have seen where Tully would have gone if they had continued but it's a wonderful legacy as it is and great that we can hear it in all it's remastered glory!
