The MBAS Blues Performer of the Year Contest 2013 Presented by PBS 106.7 FM, will see the winner represent the MBAS and Australia in Memphis USA at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) 21st January – 25th January 2014.
Rod Paines from the Fulltime Lovers was selected from 6 participants in the Grand Final, held on Sunday 27th October at the GH Hotel, St Kilda after 17 entrants competed in 3 heats on 21st – 23rd of October. A judging panel of 4 well known Blues Music radio presenters/media people selected the winner.
Previous winners in Memphis include Andrea Marr, Jimi Hocking, Fiona Boyes and Geoff Achison.
To assist with travel expenses to USA, a special Fundraiser event will be held Sunday 12th January at a venue to be advised.
