Unique, intriguing, exciting and enticing, Melbourne Fringe is guaranteed to deliver the newest, smartest and most inspirational art in the country this spring. The 2010 Melbourne Fringe Festival boasts hundreds of shows in venues across Melbourne featuring more than 4000 artists. From 22 September until 10 October, Melbourne audiences can discover and indulge in the most vibrant and contemporary art and performance.
Amongst the exciting events, the Made by Melbourne Fringe keynote project, Visible City involves 11 local and international artists producing and presenting new works about our lovely city live on the streets every single day of the festival! Fringe Furniture, the only open access design showcase in Australia, will be exhibiting the talents of local artists at The Substation in Newport during the festival.
Each year the Fringe Hub in North Melbourne provides you with a unique and bold peek into the nucleus of our independent arts community. Step into the unknown and see things you’ve never seen before. Artists working across every art-form imaginable, in every type of space, new artists alongside seasoned professionals - all trying something topical and daring.
“Shake off those winter blues and immerse yourself in the sparkly gems of Melbourne’s delightful, surprising independent arts scene”, says Creative Producer Emily Sexton.
