November at Metal Central (Fri 11th of November @ the Central Club in Richmond) features Australia’s two interstate bands: Voyager (WA) and Hemina (NSW).
Having just released their 4th album via US label SENSORY RECORDS and playing to a packed house in Atlanta, USA at the annual ProgPower USA festival (Sept 2011), VOYAGER have been aptly described as “a metal incarnation of 80s legends A-HA,” with fans of everything from SYMPHONY X, SOILWORK, NIGHTWISH and HIM creating a metal melting pot of incredible melodies and complex arrangements. This will be Voyager’s CD launch for their new album THE MEANING OF I.
Supporting VOYAGER are Sydneysiders HEMINA (Hem-ee-na), in Melbourne for the very first time and supporting their newly released debut album SYNTHETIC. HEMINA beautifully blends the extremities of progressive metal – whisper quiet atmospheres punctured by technical extremes, think OPETH, DREAM THEATER, and SYMPHONY X. This is one band to watch.
VOYAGER’s The Meaning of I and HEMINA’s Synthetic will be available for sale on the night along with plenty of music courtesy of Gary Carson from Screaming Symphony.
