Becoming a member helps artists develop their professional skills by providing free entry to Music Victoria’s monthly professional development workshop series with topics such as Hearing Health and Tax Time, as well as discounts on entry to music industry conferences Face The Music and BIGSOUND.
Over the last 12 months, Music Victoria membership fees have helped fund the organisation to achieve significant protection and create opportunities for the state contemporary music industry. These include advocating for regulatory protection and attenuation grants for venues, and exemptions for small live music venues from the late night liquor licensing freeze. Musicians have directly benefited from the hard work of Music Victoria in helping keep venues open. Over the next 12 months Music Victoria will continue to work closely with the state government in delivering its $22.2 million Music Works package to assist in directing distribution of the package.
