Stani Goma, presenter of PBS’s Flight 1067 To Africa program, will host this once in a lifetime opportunity to explore Africa’s diverse musical traditions, amazing wildlife and strong community spirit.
Kicking off in mid October, the Africa Music Safari is a two week comprehensive tour program of African music and cultural history. Beginning in Johannesburg, travelers will learn about the current African music scene and the historical influence of African music on mainstream western rock, blues and jazz. The journey then traverses Nairobi to Arusha in Northern Tanzania on a wildlife safari... the ultimate African bush camping experience.
To round off the trip, enjoy a rare opportunity of cultural exchange as the tour takes time to stay with one of Tanzania’s major community aid programs, St Jude’s community aid school, as featured late last year on ABC’s Australian Story program. There is an additional Capetown option for those wanting to make the most of the trip!
