Following a successful pilot in 2015, PBS 106.7FM is proud to announce the return of the Collaborative Radio Project, a free training course that combines a love of music and radio.
The training offers six weekly skills classes at PBS, an excursion to community radio stations in Melbourne, and three weekly one-on-one mentoring sessions to put your new skills into action and produce a short radio story. Students are then invited to co-ordinate the broadcast showcase of their works on All Our Stories.
The training will cover topics including: introduction to radio and broadcast law, story-telling techniques, audio recording and editing, interviewing and sound design.
Places in the course are limited. A priority is to support those who are underrepresented, misrepresented or excluded from media spaces. People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, those with a disability, and Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.
The training course will run at PBS on Thursday nights 6:30pm-8:30pm on April 27, May 4, 18, 25 June 1, 15, 22, 29. There will be another course running in the next twelve months so if you are unable to do these dates look out for future courses.
