PBS 106.7FM is an iconic music station with a proud 38 year history of broadcasting a wide range of music seldom heard elsewhere – gospel, reggae, blues, country, jazz, soul, rock, metal, electronic, hip hop, world and film soundtracks, just to name a few – by announcers who are generally considered experts in their field.
We're looking for someone with an in depth knowledge of music and a passion for community radio. The Music & Interviews Coordinator role is a lead role within the organisation, predominantly responsible for overseeing the active sourcing and management of music coming into the station and the placement of interviews and live performances on-air.
The Music & Interviews Coordinator needs to have an excellent knowledge of different musical genres and be able to work with announcers, artists, publicists and labels to ensure PBS has access to the best and most relevant music available and that it is distributed appropriately across all shows. In addition, the Music & Interviews Coordinator oversees music library catalogue maintenance and music department volunteer management.
This is a key music role at a music radio station. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and juggle a multitude of tasks whilst maintaining a focus on the bigger picture.
