This Sunday night PBS will introduce a new show to our weekly roster. Following Gerry Koster’s decision to wind up his iconic show Dizzy Atmosphere, PBS is delighted to be able to continue our Sunday night focus on improvised music and progressive jazz with Stars in the Static, presented by musician, composer and bandleader Greg Sher.
Stars in the Static traces the signals of jazz and improvised music as they travel through time and across borders. With a focus on new releases, the program spotlights Australian musicians and composers while reaching out to global currents. Expect new discoveries, artist conversations, and a connection to the gigs and moments keeping the music alive today. PBS listeners will already be familiar with Greg’s outstanding programming after years filling many of our jazz and related programs.
Tune in to the very first edition of Stars in the Static - kicking off Sunday evening from 8pm-10pm.
