Australia's greatest ever jazz musician, James Morrison, will headline the 2011 Riverboats Jazz Food and Wine Festival, returning to Aquatic Reserve in the heart of Echuca from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th February, 2011.
Promising one of the most exciting and diverse line-ups in the Festival's 20-year history, James Morrison will be joined by Australian music icons Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows, Vika Bull & The Hornets, the 10-piece Cairo Club Orchestra, emerging jazz superstar Sarah McKenzie and many more.
In addition to its headline artists, the 2011 Riverboats Jazz Food & Wine Festival will present a non-stop line-up of entertainment across the Festival weekend, beginning with Echuca’s own Little Big Band on the Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Festival organisers are particularly excited about Standing in the Shadows of Motown, a Sunday afternoon concert that brings together 12 of Melbourne’s most exciting emerging musicians for a spectacular tribute to the Motown Record Label. Other highlights include legendary swing sensations the Cairo Club Orchestra, Festival favourites the Maryborough Jazz Ensemble and the sublime Sarah McKenzie, one of the rising stars of the Australian jazz scene.
In addition to performances on the main Festival stage at Aquatic Reserve, music will spill from venues, restaurants, pubs and paddle-steamers across the region, whilst on the food and wine front the region’s very best winemakers, chefs and restaurateurs will head down to the Festival Hub to set up shop for the weekend.
