PBS 106.7FM is very pleased to announce the next Rock-A-Bye Baby session on Thursday, October 5th with the rocking, rollicking four-piece, spanning 60’s rock, folk, surf and swinging groove.
From what began as a solo project for Rhea Caldwell, Baby Blue quickly evolved into a rocking, rollicking four-piece spanning 60’s rock, folk, surf and pop featuring members of CB3, Coastbusters and 19th Century Strongmen. Despite this lineup expansion, Baby Blue’s songs still retain their initial folk backbone – that storytelling, those intimate moments – but have grown to an electrifying roar. Guitarist Fabian Hunter’s joyful and elaborate fretwork complements Caldwell’s ear for melody whilst drummer Nathanael Riley’s and bassman Dave Mudie’s playful beats lock the audience’s hips’n’feet to the swinging groove.
"Even solo and starting out, Caldwell's lyrics and rich vocals stuck in the craw... Baby Blue are starting to make noise around the traps. With the combination of Fabian Hunter’s surfy noodling, Nathanael Riley's effortless beat-keeping and Caldwell's captivating lyricism, it's easy to see why." - Jake Cleland, Strine WHINE.
