Strathbogie Forest on Taungurung land, in North East Victoria is an old growth forest and home to the endangered greater glider, powerful owl, and many more species of flora and fauna. The forest has been under threat from loggers for some time, and community organisation Save Our Strathbogie Forest stopped logging and established protection for the site a few years ago.

Now, Save Our Strathbogie Forest has been presented with a new fight and is asking VicGov to heavily regulate planned burns of the forest, ensuring that appropriate guidance is taken before burning. If no changes are made to the current planned burn legislation the burns will gradually eliminate the hollow-dependent wildlife, including the already endangered species such as the greater glider, and dramatically deteriorate the health of the forest.

To raise funds and awareness, Save Our Strathbogie Forest is hosting a fundraising event on November 23 at the Toff in Town - tickets are available here.

Ella Hooper will MC, sharing memories of growing up in and around the Strathbogie Forest, alongside live sets from Great Aunt, Ellen James and Felix Leunig and a surprise guest performance. 100% of proceeds will be donated to 'Save Our Strathbogie Forest'.
