The next generation of Australian designers will be on show at Set Sail 2011 from December 1 2011. The invitation-only opening for industry professionals is on Wednesday 30 November.
Work from around 100 of the most talented graduates from Swinburne University’s Faculty of Design will be on display for only four days at Lot Four in Richmond.
Set Sail showcases the engaging and inspiring work of young designers from the undergraduate and honours programs. This exciting collection of design work includes brand, print, advertising and packaging.
Conceived and produced by a student committee, Set Sail is an opportunity for industry professional and design lovers to be inspired by the work of emerging designers and celebrate excellence in the design field.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Swinburne students to exhibit the depth and breadth of their practice. Underpinning the work is a rigorous and iterative design process involving curiosity, research, practice and perseverance" said Nicki Wragg, Head of Academic Group for Communication Design.
"Graduate exhibitions are important as they provide closure on university life and introduce emerging designers to the thriving design profession. We believe our students to be equipped to become some the most exciting young designers in Australia, bringing a diverse mix of practice and intellectual skills as well as passion and assertiveness to design problems. We're always impressed by the calibre of work from our students and this year is no exception.”
The featured work includes award-winning projects in brand identity, multimedia and packaging design. Students featuring in Set Sail have been recognised with awards from leading organizations in the design field.
