It’s not unreasonable to argue, as a great philosopher once has, that we should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once. We take this adage fairly seriously here at PBS. We don’t waste time, and we take every opportunity to move to the beat and to look for hope in the most surprising and unlikely places.
As 2024 draws to a close, we look back at some of this year’s most wonderful works of music. Week in, week out, we have the privilege of listening to beautiful music from all corners of the world, and then picking one exceptional album, each week, that we believe to be both timely and timeless. Out of all the tremendous music that came out in the last 12 months, we chose nearly fifty albums to feature across our programs. Now, as we wrap things up, we share with you our favourite ten albums, each of which celebrates dance as the language of the soul in its own special way.
We invite you to visit these albums with us once more as we anticipate the new dance of the new year.
