Melbourne's live music scene is pretty spesh, and so are the venues that support it. The latest exhibition by Hola Holga looks at the architecture of the bars, pubs and clubs that put on local bands. So many iconic venues have been lost over the years; this collection captures the unfortunate lifecycle of these lost spaces as they stand now. Goddamn pizza bars.
Using her piece of shit holga and some rippin’ woodwork skills, Hola has photographed the places that mean something to her. A few special pieces feature Melbourne bands with their favourite venues, including Batpiss (The Tote), Mikeey Hew from the High Times and Silence Dead Silence (Cherry Bar), Ladie Dee (Northcote Social Club), Damn Terran (The B East) and more.
