The Burning Bridges are an acoustic family band that have been performing since 2012, appearing regularly at national festivals and at venues of distinction across Melbourne and statewide. The band’s repertoire harks back to the bedrock of American country music (The Carter Family, The Louvin Brothers, Ralph Stanley, The Delmore Brothers) and includes bluegrass, old time, alt-country, and an expanding catalogue of original songs and tunes, plus a little contemporary material reworked for a classic sound.
The Burning Bridges have recently launched their third album, Whippoorwill, which features harmony singing, 5-string banjo and dobro, guitar, mandolin and double bass. They brought their old-timey sound to Jan Dale’s Southern Style for a special Studio 5 session, listen back to the full session here.
