The annual musical journey for thousands of fans of Australia’s premier festival of music, arts and dance begins as the WOMADelaide 2013 Compilation CD is released nationally through Cartell Music today. The CD is available online through cartellmusic.com.au, WOMUSIC and all good music stores and outlets.
Listeners can float and dance their way around the globe, from Tajikistan to the USA, Mali to London, France to South Africa, Scotland to New Zealand and Jamaica via the CD; an ideal taster for the real festival (8-11 March, Botanic Park, Adelaide).
Featured on the fabulous 16 track CD – and sure to be one of this year’s festival highlights – is the godfather of roots-reggae and 2013 Grammy Award winner, Jimmy Cliff. Since recording his first album at 14 years of age, Jimmy Cliff has cemented his place as music royalty. The energetic 64-year-old revives the spirit of his earlier classics in his new track, “One More”.
