Hard-Ons - So I Could Have Them Destroyed
This week's feature record comes from Sydney's punk rockers the Hard-Ons with their 12th studio album So I Could Have Them Destroyed.
Formed in 1981 in the back streets of Western Sydney, the Hard-Ons have been called Australia's most commerically successful independent band with over 250,000 record sales. With a few iterations of the line-up since the 80s, the band welcomes back original founding member Keish De Silva (drums/vocals) for the record, alongside Peter Black (guitars/vocals), Ray Ahn (Bass), and Murray Ruse (drums).
Clocking in at a concise 30 minutes via 12 tracks, So I Could Have Them Destroyed sees the Hard-Ons distilling their best musical traits: brutal velocity, rampaging guitars, and beautiful harmonised vocals. Remarkably the record does not sound like any other Hard-Ons' release to date, rather it straddles the sweet spot between their treacherous and chaos-laden, free-for-all approach and the diamond-hard solidity their beautiful melodies crave and deserve.
Check out their track 'Oh, You're Crushed?' below and tune into PBS all week for your chance to win a copy of the album (members only). Not a member and want to win? Click here today!
