In August you’ll hear some exciting changes on PBS.
Boss Action with Miss Goldie will move from 7pm into 3pm every Saturday. Miss Goldie’s mix of rare 45s and killer funk and soul will sit beautifully on a Saturday afternoon, and it makes complete sense that such a PBS favourite moves from a one-hour program into this two-hour slot. We were devastated to lose our dear friend Pierre Baroni and Soulgroove ’66 earlier this year, but delighted that his great friend Miss Goldie will be the new custodian of 3pm-5pm every Saturday on PBS. Boss Action will hit this new time-slot from Saturday August 21.
We welcome Suzi Hutchings to the PBS program roster, taking up the 7pm – 8pm Saturday night slot. Suzi is an Arrernte woman who did a long-running show at Radio Adelaide before moving to Melbourne. Her show Subway Sounds will feature a mix of hip-hop, neo-soul, some reggae, jazz and boogie jams, and will have First Nations artists very much front and centre.
Rosa Coyle-Hayward returns to PBS after spending time working on a major arts and music festival in Tasmania. Twist in the Dark, a predominantly left-field indie music program with a high percentage of local content, will take on the 7pm – 8pm Tuesday slot following the departure of Opalakia.
