This week’s feature album comes from West Virginia bred, Nashville-based artist Sierra Ferrell with her highly anticipated release Long Time Coming.
A lifelong singer, Ferrell got her start performing in a local bar at only seven years old. Skip to her 20s and she’s travelling across the US performing with a musical troupe. But it was her move to Nashville that set Ferrell up for stardom.
Since then, Ferrell has performed across the world including AmericanaFest and Out On The Weekend Festival in Australia in 2018 and 2019. It was during this visit that PBS welcomed Sienna into the studio to record a couple of tracks for Studio 5 Live. Listen back to the session here.
Long Time Coming embodies Ferrell’s fierce eclecticism and individuality as a musician and songwriter.

Co-produced by Grammy Award-winner Gary Paczosa (Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton, Sarah Jarosz) and Australian musician Stu Hibberd, Long Time Coming stakes out new sonic territory where tango rhythms, bluegrass picking, jazz phrasing, and classic country intersect to create something that feels wholly original.
