In November last year, Melbourne’s cult band of jazz, soul, and RnB connoisseurs JAZZPARTY recorded a fantastic set on MUUZOstream, Channel 31’s live music show. Growing from lounge rooms of late-night house parties to month-long residencies throughout the city, JAZZPARTY has held court at many of Melbourne’s most electrifying venues, as well as tearing it up at some of Australia’s most exciting music and arts festivals.
Led by former saxophonist and songwriter of Clairy Browne & The Bangin’ Rackettes, Darcy McNulty, and supreme diva and ex-Rackette, Loretta Miller, JAZZPARTY released their second album Nobody Gets Away in mid-2021. The record packs a punch, delivering 11 hypnotic, seductive and groovy tracks that made it worthy of being chosen as a PBS Feature Album upon its release. Equally, JAZZPARTY’s MUUZOstream performance captures the band’s New Orleans-style revelry at its most punk. We can't wait to broadcast this session in all its raw, colourful glory on April 1 on Ports of Paradise.Tune in to PBS on April 1 from 9am to hear JAZZPARTY’s MUUZOstream performance.
