The City of Stonnington presents a stellar line-up of music royalty this January in two idyllic parks in Malvern East and Prahran.
Summer is sizzling in Stonnington with the return of Sunset Sounds for not one, but two FREE evenings of unforgettable live music set in the picturesque Central Park, Malvern East and the return of the much-loved concert location in Victoria Gardens, Prahran.
Central Park will host the first concert on Sunday 14 January, with headlining act JAZZPARTY, an electric eight-piece phenomena delivering high-energy blues, RnB and forgotten jazz music with fervour. Five-piece collaborative ensemble Squid Nebula will be supporting to deliver cosmic groove and psychedelic disco. Fronted by hypnotic soul artist and proud Noongar woman Bumpy, Squid Nebula comprises members from all corners of Naarm’s music Community.
PBS DJ Lyndelle Wilkinson will be bringing the groove and spinning decks throughout the evening. The Victoria Gardens concert will take place the following Sunday on 21 January, with headlining act Mama Kin Spender, an ARIA-nominated duo for Best Blues and Roots Album. This collaboration combines drums, percussion and blistering guitar with lightning arrangements underpinned by harmonies that shimmer and smoulder. Melbourne-based artist Danika will be supporting with her delicate blend of folk, soul and jazz influences. Weaving us through the musical journey will be PBS DJ Elle Young on decks.
Come along with your friends and family, grab your picnic rug and settle in for a fantastic line-up of live twilight music.
