Kingston Arts and PBS present Live at City Hall: Sunday Sounds, a series of free performances by some of Naarm/Melbourne’s best bands and PBS DJs at Kingston City Hall in Moorabbin. Kick back, relax and enjoy live music in a family friendly atmosphere.
Catch Opelousas and DJ Crispi from PBS' Radio City performing for free as part of Live at City Hall: Sunday Sounds, 2pm - 5pm February 9.
Opelousas have a unique and hauntingly hypnotic take on blues and rock that will leave you mesmerised. The rhythms of Opelousas seep right into your bloodstream and their powerful performances leave punters crying out for more.
Inspired by the Louisiana spice capital of the same name, the Melbourne-based trio was formed by Kerri Simpson in 2018, drawing on the trio’s mutual love for the music of the deep south.
Their second album Opelousafried, released in February 2024, was album of the week upon release on PBS, and has been nominated for Music Victoria’s Best Blues Album of 2024. Their debut album Opelousified won the award in 2019.
The Sunday gigs are fun for all ages – relax, enjoy the summer vibes and soak in the tunes.
PBS and Kingston Arts are also teaming up for two more Live at City Hall: Sunday Sounds, on Sunday March 23 when PBS will host a special live broadcast of Flight 1067 to Africa and Global Village. Stay tuned for more details!
