Sikander are a Melbourne-based outfit concocting globally-flavoured club music, with elements of cinematic atmospherics, sitar-fuzz, and bass culture into a groove-laden sonic spread.

Stylistically, Sikander is influenced by Dancehall, Moombahton, House, and sun-kissed Balearic grooves, laced generously with West African poly-rhythms and the street-folk sounds of the Indian Subcontinent.

Founded by Pradip Sarkar in 2008 as an outlet for his nascent productions of Indian-influenced beats, Sikander soon grew to include Jeremy Malcolmson aka Sitar Rhythm Ace on sitar and guitar, and a collective of live musicians on percussion, bass, and other eastern instruments.

Sikander have performed in a number of music festivals, community events and clubs in Australia and overseas, including supports for the Dhol Foundation at the Arts Centre, and Unified Gekko at the Famous Spiegeltent.

As part of the PBS Studio Live session dedicated to Mumbai Masala, Sikander will perform live-to-air as a duo with Pradip on beats, sampler and synthesizer, and Jeremy on sitar and guitar.
