Written by Melbourne music legend Ollie Olsen in 1987, 'Rooms For The Memory' holds a special place in Australian music history as it was Michael Hutchence's only solo single released during his lifetime. On a new project that pays homage to Hutchence and aims to raise funds for Olsen's medical bills, Mick Harvey, Adalita and Andrew Duffield have teamed up with Jane Gazzo to record a heartfelt rendition of the song. It features rare and unseen photos, artwork, letters and diaries, unreleased tracks and studio footage, and its soundtrack has been curated by the band's multi-instrumentalist, Mick Harvey. Mick joins Michael at Junkyard to talk about the documentary and the history of The Birthday Party.
