Jen Cloher returns with their first album in five years ‘I Am the River, The River Is Me.’ Inspired by Jen’s powerful matrilineal line of wāhine Māori, 'I Am The River, The River Is Me' is not urgent or hurried, but it is vital, made with the care and ease of someone who knows that their past began before birth, and will continue long after they’re gone. Jen calls in to Underground Love to talk to Jordan about ‘I Am the River, The River Is Me’ and their performance at Meadow 31 March - 2 April.

The Rookies

The Rookies' fourth album, Feed The Fire, was written collaboratively, first online bouncing ideas back and forth, and then in the rehearsal room. Listening to this record is as much a journey as we imagine writing it to have been. This is one of the reasons we picked it as a PBS Feature Album. As the band prepares to launch the album in April, members Greg Sher and Joel Trigg chat to Mike Gurrieri about what inspired the making of this album.

Following a critically acclaimed tour of the UK last year, The Three Seas embark on an extensive Australian tour throughout March and April. The international, cross-cultural ensemble fuses West Bengal and Himalayan folk song with contemporary sounds from Sydney and Kolkata. Soaring Baul vocals and majestic sounds from North India intertwine with Bengali beats and deep grooves combine into an energetic electro-dub, funk and Hindustani music. Saxophonist Matt Keegan calls by PBS for a chat.

Mermaid Avenue provides an intriguing into the persona of Guthrie, revealing him to be a joker, lover, boozer that spawned the classics ‘California Stars’ and ‘Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key.'
