Formed in 2018 by Kerri Simpson, Alison Ferrier and Anthony 'Shorty' Shortte, Opelousas plays hauntingly hypnotic music that leaves audiences mesmerized. Inspired by the Louisiana town of the same name, the Melbourne-based trio serve up a spicy slice of swamp blues. Celebrating the release of their second album 'Opelousafried,' the trio pass by PBS to play a couple of tunes live in studio and have a chat about the album.

Set within the era of Adam Goodes’ war cry, '37' is a play penned by Nathan Maynard, about a local footy team of this small coastal town that have spent so long at the bottom of the ladder they might as well be welded to it. When new hope arrives, the Marngrook cousins, named after the Aboriginal game, they’re match fit to bring home the team’s first flag in forever.
