After 6 years of bringing the funk to the high seas, they’re taking things to a whole new level. Funkin' The Bay boat party have joined forces with Mz Rizk to bring you Rizkys Floating Block Party.
After a series of killer block parties at Section 8 and Melbourne Music Week, the party sets sail on a fundraiser like no other. There’s a reason block party king ‘Dave Chappelle’ stopped by to party with Mz Rizk when he was in town.
So what will Rizky bring out to sea? Nothing but the tightest crew this town has to offer… We’ve got some of the biggest rappers & producers in the game, the funkiest radio DJs, a soulful vocalist and some of the deepest crate diggers in Melbourne. Expect to hear funk, boogie, disco, hip hop, soul and everything in between. You know the score; it just gets better every year.
Funkin’ the Bay is always good for a theme. This year it’s ‘80’s Club’. Imagine the fashion at the last studio 54 party in 1980, the birth of hip hop or the fancy stuff your mum wore to the club when she was your age. The 80’s was big bold and yes, it was still funky.
The best part about all of this? It’s all for Charity. Act, Change, Educate and HFCA donate all profits from this party to the Happy School Project and to the Cambodian Homeless World Cup program. A good time for a good cause… Yayer!
