CLOSET

Friday 25 August 2017

CLOSET is interrupting its regular scheduled party programming to fight the impending plebiscite on marriage equality. They will be donating 50% of the proceeds from this party to help support Australian Marriage Equality to fight the YES campaign.

Instead of allowing a free conscience vote which might have allowed Coalition MPs to cross the floor in support of marriage equality, the Turnbull Government are instead pushing ahead with a non-compulsory, non-binding postal plebiscite as soon as mid-September.

While CLOSET hope the High Court rejects this as unconstitutional, if the worst should happen they believe we all need to be ready to fight this plebiscite, and make sure that Australia says YES.

According to the Australian Electoral Commission, Friday August 25 is the last day you can enrol to vote or update your enrolment details so don't forget to enrol!
